除了蘋果早前宣佈了 OS X 的 iPhoto 將不會推出更新外，近日蘋果推出的 iOS 8 Beta 4 中，亦通知用戶，iOS 8 將不會支援 iPhoto。在 iOS 8 中，蘋果會通知用戶，把 iPhoto 內的所有資料都移動到 iOS 的預設圖片程式中，不過 Journals 及 Slideshows 的功能將不會再支援。

蘋果在 2012 年發佈照片日誌的功能，並率先在 iPad 3 的 iPhoto 上，成為 iPhoto 的功能之一。不過由 iOS 的 Beta 4 開始，iPhoto 內的大部分功能將不再支援，同時亦只有把 iPhoto 內照片導出的一個選擇。看來蘋果要決心把 iPhoto 結束了。不知道取代 iPhoto 的軟件，是一套怎樣的軟件呢？
