it makes no difference
it won't affect your network setting
if you're using router, then your network setting should probably be just "obtain IP address automatically"
if you connect your computer directly to the modem, then you will need to fill in back your network information like your login account or the service you're dialing to

you can buy any Windows XP disc as long as you have a valid cd key
and SP2 is just a service pack
