My choice:
1. Germany
They can form a good team. The players are 1+1>2. They face weak opponents in division B(Austria, Poland & Croatia are all neighbourhood "little borthers"), good opportunity to play into form thru these easy games. They can also considered as "host" as close for citizens to come over, & also a lot of Swiss & Austrians speak German.
From Chelsea games, it is easily seen that Ballack is very hunger to demonstrate himself. He can inspire team & make the difference. The only -ve is they are the favourite at this stage. Caveat.
2. Outsider: Russia
Players come from just a few teams. Can form good team. Under a good coach, esp the last few teams like PSV, Korea & Australia all play efficient & teamwork football, which I think Russians can do well too.
I think this kind of tournament is more about how quick these players can put together into a team, instead of how good quality the individual players are. |
