After this season, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Ben Wallace, Anderson Varejao, Joe Smith and Wally Szczerbiak will become free agents, clearing USD 30m cap space for the Cavs. However, some may choose not to opt out (Zydrunas Ilgauskas has said he won't). I think the main thing for the Cavs is to sign a better spot-up shooter such as JR Smith, Kyle Korver and Jason Kapono. They don't need Yao Ming to slow them down. Their inside game is strong enough but if they're not convinced, Carlos Boozer is a free agent this year, though he's likely to sign for Detroit or something.

Didn't know Boozer is sooo cheap

The Trade Machine works based on salaries of players (which is actually how NBA trades work) and it takes into account of trade clauses and stuff like that as well.

One thing that the Cavs have in favour is that the Clippers are looking to trade away one of their big men (Camby, Kaman or Randolph) in order to accommodate Blake Griffin, so the Cavs, in theory, can trade Ben Wallace to the Clippers and then Ben can retire at the Clippers, helping the Clips clear space and also the Cavs achieving a big man. However, I'm pretty sure that Detroit may be aiming to do the same thing, but for Rasheed Wallace.
