Don't be silly. Yao Ming isn't much better than Big Z.

The Lakers need to be aggressive and get Howard in foul trouble. They need to take care of either the outside shooting or the inside presence of Howard. If the Magic have both, the Lakers are screwed.

Yao's gonna slow the Cavs down. Mo and LeBron won't be able to utilise their speed to maximum effect, having to wait for Yao to drag his body upcourt. Kinda like Aaron Brooks after Yao's hairline fracture.

Bynum and Howard will both be in foul trouble easily, but Gasol can't guard Hedo or Rashard, so I think Phil should start Odom over Gasol so Odom can guard Rashard. Ariza can then guard Hedo.

But putting Gasol on the bench seems very strange. If Gasol can prove to be a good matchup for Howard, then Bynum can go back to the bench. Vujacic, Farmar, Brown, Walton and Ariza can drain 3s.

Fisher should go back to the bench. Alston is too fast for him, so Farmar or Brown can start.

Howard uses his power (just look at his muscles) to score points and since he's so much more powerful than most other centers in the league, he doesn't require the skill that other centers have. His amazing jumping ability also allows him to grab rebounds better than other centers who do not jump (e.g. Yao Ming) or do not possess the same jumping abilities (e.g. Andrew Bynum)

And none of those 1995 players are still in the squad. On the other hand, the current Lakers had last year's experience and (since the beginning of the season) want the Larry O'Brien Trophy more than anyone else.
