Rio Ferdinand feels he will only miss one match after hurting his groin in Manchester United's FA Cup semi-final win over Watford.
The defender was forced out of the 4-1 triumph at Villa Park towards the end of the first half and will undergo a scan on the injury on Sunday.
He expects to sit out Tuesday's Premiership game with Sheffield United, but is optimistic about being fit for next weekend's fixture with Middlesbrough.
"I don't know about Tuesday, but think I should be all right for Saturday," said Ferdinand.
"It was the semi-final of the FA Cup, so I was disappointed to come off.
"I will speak to the physios about the injury, and I will obviously know more next week, but hopefully it is not too bad."
Having watched his United team-mates finish the job off against Watford, Ferdinand is relishing the chance to play in the first FA Cup final at the revamped Wembley Stadium.
He added: "Once we knew the final was going to be played at Wembley, we wanted to get there even more.
"It has a great history. To be the first to play there will be phenomenal. Hopefully, we can go there and win.
"All that was important today was winning. The performance was secondary.
"We were disappointed to concede a goal, but the response we are getting at the moment to conceding goals is more important than anything." |
