must reply here then, just to get this topic back up top
haha(thx for "look duck up" me, brother brightlee)
to be very honest with u
i do not know alot abt "historic" players
for i'm a very green newbie in basketball watching
i remember reading something like this when i was still in highschool
after micheal jordan 2nd retirement (right b4 joining the wizards)(for i think when we wanna know who's best on "D" we should ask the greatest offensive player --- MJ)
quote: reporter : "Micheal, who was the best defender that you had to face in your career?"
MJ : "Joe Dumars"
at 6'3", MJ claims that Dumars was the one that gave him most trouble, i guess MJ wasn't at his prime when he played the 2 times nba champion, and mvp. or it took dumars less time to "bloom" b4 MJ did. (of coz now that we know Jordan ended up to be the greatest player ever)
i guess it has alot to do with his sportmanship that made the differences as well
although dumars one of the "Bad Boys", but i think it's mainly becoz of rodman and isiah thomas, yet he got the sportmanship award for 2 yrs i think
plus the bulls dynasty began AFTER the back to back champions of the Detriot Pistons
so i guess dumars was in MJ's way back then...haha
if jordan said he's good in D
i guess he's pretty darn good at denfense then(maybe it's one of those performance doesn't show on paper??? like didn't block MJ or steal the ball from him, but forced him to change his shots so that he missed or forced MJ some turnovers i guess) |
