I think he may have too much pressure at that time...... that's why he did some silly reaction, like Dennis Bergkamp when he played Sheff Utd.....
yes, he didn't have good temperment when he was young, but he's change.......

but so much pressure in Arsenal lately.. maybe that's why... things are going in that way

yes, he's just 23.. and to be honest, his career is starting in midfield, and he changes to play CB from last yr...
what do u expect?
Rio was playing midfield when he was in teens, but when he started to play in West Ham (Senior team) he played Center back.
He made a lot of mistakes in West Ham Utd, but for u guys, may never see that...

and when he moved to Leeds, as he played Center back for more than 2 yrs in West Ham Utd, then he started to settle in Leeds and his potential is coming out.....

I can sense there will be another Gallas+Terry in center back in Arsenal 2 yrs later
(2 yrs ago, I thought the partnership between Gallas and Terry was the best in Chelsea ... rather than Desially in there)

to be honest, it's hard to ask one player to change one position to another position.
you play soccer too, if you play out of your position for one game, you will be struggled.
that's why you can see Greame Le Saux forgot how to play in left wing on Saturday (he was playing in  left wing in Chelsea when he start his career)

and you can see why A.Cole and Wayne Bridge couldn't play well in left winger in England squad, similart situation.

yes, you are smart!
so if you manage a team or if you see some teams in injury blow, they always play badly in that period... it's because they don't have time to re-settle the new players and new positions.....

You could see Chelsea, they bought a lot of players last year, but they put the "RIGHT" position to every players, but they still spend 1/2 seasons to setup the new team......

that's why they are successful right now.

Look at West Bromich Albion, they were lack of attacking players last season, what did they buy?
Inamoto, Kanu, Greening, Earnshaw, Gera, Scimeca, Kieran Richardson, Kevin Campbell......etc....
but were they settle in the new team?

and the manager cannot let players happy on the field, ie. the team is completely break down.
