when the time Carrick joined Spurs, Man U spent all the money to buy Rooney, Henize and A.Smith~~and they thought Keane could play at high standard longer....

VIEIRA WANTS TO JOIN MANYOO


Patrick Vieira has reportedly declared his desire to join ManYoo - and could seal a move within the next two days.


Vieira wants to leave Juventus after the Turin club was relegated from Italy's Serie A for their part in Italy's match-fixing scandal.


The Frenchman had been expected to switch to Inter Milan, but it now appears that the former Arsenal captain would prefer to return to the Premiership with ManYoo.


"Everyone wants to play for a club like Manchester United at the very highest level. It might be difficult after nine years at Arsenal but anything can happen in football," he said.


"I will certainly not be playing for Juventus next season after they were relegated to Serie B.


"I'm still looking for a new club. There might be some sort of conclusion in the next 48 hours and it's a very important decision for me."


Should Vieira move to Old Trafford then his arrival would signal a complete overhaul of the club's central midfield, with Michael Carrack finally completing his £18.6m move from Spurs on Monday.


Marcos Senna, the Villarreal and Spain midfield player, is another option. According to reports, Sir Alex Ferguson has sanctioned a bid, although Villarreal deny that talks have begun.

yeh....but Man U must have a target man, like Keane, before starting any attack, it must be started from keane...same as Vieira....

After watching WC06, Riquelme  would never suit Man U...i cant imagine what will Man U be if C7 and Riquelme played in the same team...heaps of dribbling...
As Riquelme dribbles alot, English defenders like Lucas Neill from Blackburn would defintely knock him down a couple times in one match~~it doesnt work in Man U~~
