well, it depends how often you will use the camera.  If you really love photo shooting, DSLR is a better choice.  However, if you are amateur, DC is good enough.  For DSLR, canon is a good choice and the price is cheaper than Nikon.  For DC, i recommend canon or sony.  Canon can provide better colour and Sony can provide better function.

But then what if I wanna use it to take some daily photo with my gf n cats? I want something that can capture the moment the my cats stay still...

As you may know, they are quite active... I tried to use my sony mobiles to capture, but then there's only a shadow...

And also I want something easy to handle as I'm a beginner...
