Manchester United will be crossing their fingers for Gabriel Heinze when the
Argentina international undergoes a scan on his knee injury.
The star left back collected the knock following a clash with Jan Kromkamp
in Wednesday evening's UEFA Champions League draw with Villarreal.
Heinze was forced off after just half an hour at Estadio El Madrigal with
Kieran Richardson now set to fill in during his absence.
Richardson, who spent time with West Brom last term, is almost certain to
deputise against Liverpool on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1, with Heinze set
for a short spell on the sidelines.
The loss of Heinze will be a massive blow for Sir Alex Ferguson with the
likes of Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Wes Brown, Louis Saha and Quinton Fortune
also out of action.
"He will go for a scan but we think it is medial ligament damage," explained
Ferguson. "If that is the case, he will be out for several weeks."
