杜迪克或可極速康復
Jerzy Dudek has revealed his elbow injury isn't as serious as first feared as he looks forward to a quicker than expected return to action.
Dudek dislocated his elbow last week and was initially ruled out of competitive action for three months.
But the Polish goalkeeper has now revealed he is making good progress in his rehabilitation and could be ready to challenge Pepe Reina for a first team place before the end of next month.
"It's always bad news when you get injured," said Dudek. "But fortunately the good news for me is that it isn't as bad as we first thought and hopefully after five or six weeks out I could be ready to play again.hopefully after five or six weeks out I could be ready to play again.
"The way the injury happened was very unlucky. It was one of the last exercises of the training session and my hand got stuck in the grass as I went for the ball. My elbow then went the other way and it looked very bad at the time. I had to react quickly and put my elbow back into place myself on the training field. I couldn't afford to think about it, I just did it.
"We went to the hospital straightaway and had all the necessary scans. We thought I could be out for three months but the next day the specialist told me that the England rugby captain suffered a worse dislocated elbow injury than mine and that he was back in six weeks. Hopefully it will be the same for me.
"I want to be back before the end of September. I have made a lot of progress over the last week. The swelling has mostly gone which is incredible and if I can keep making good progress then hopefully I can be back sooner rather than later."

Michael Essien has admitted he is not worth £26 million and revealed he almost joined Liverpool during Gerard Houllier's reign at Anfield.
The Lyon midfielder is finalising his move to Chelsea on Friday after pushing to leave the French champions.
"After the Champions League final, when Steven Gerrard decided to stay at Liverpool, despite contact with Chelsea, I knew I would be the top priority for Chelsea," he told France Football.
"I don't make the decision for my financial value.
"Now it is obvious I am not worth €38 million but that is football business.""Now it is obvious I am not worth €38 million but that is football business."
The 22-year-old was upset to leave Houllier after the Frenchman tried to bring him to Merseyside before his value soared.
"Two years ago, I was very close to signing for Liverpool before joining Lyon," he revealed.

"Manchester and Arsenal also asked for information. But, as soon as Chelsea threw their hat into the ring, I think no club could compete with them on a financial level, considering what Mr [Jean-Michel] Aulas asked for.
"Chelsea are a very exciting club and I am eager to be there.
