for the preliminary interview:

there will be 3 ppl sitting in front of you, (just like a board interview) asking u question relating to current affairs, the government, the immigration department and the reasons why u want to join, and how capable you r to take up that position etc......

it's divided into 2 sections,+ v& s9 h& | p0 D# f( y
1 is impromptu talk

( R- `$ I* J$ W. e) m! e4 L6 O0 v3 N: r! \0 j/ N9 y0 d: @
all conducted in english0 V% ^, _' W2 `. f
$ @& e7 g4 L1 Z* u* P, R7 Eimpromptu talk requires u to talk on a particular "word" or "picture" which is randomly choosed for 3 minutes with only a few seconds to prepare

& b1 v" g+ O1 D8 }) Atopic like "environment, biscuit...."

group discusion is just like a normal way of discusion, each candidate has a chance to speak for 1-2 minutes, and after the 1st round, those volunteered candidates can talk for some more times to supplement their points or to refute other ppl's point without coming up with a conclusion

the format is just like prelim in, but of course, the requirement to pass is much higher and the questions r much trickier!
